With the onset of winter, falling temperatures and dry air can have a detrimental effect on your Laser Equipment. To ensure optimal performance and prolong the life of your equipment, we are pleased to provide the following official winter laser equipment maintenance guidelines:

1. Environmental Control: Make sure you place your laser equipment in a temperature and humidity controlled environment and avoid direct exposure to cold or humid conditions. The ideal operating temperature is usually between 20°C and 25°C and the relative humidity should be maintained at 40% to 60%. When the ambient temperature is below 0° Celsius, the chiller cooling water should be replaced with a special antifreeze for laser equipment to prevent freezing that could lead to equipment damage. Be sure to drain the cooling water from the chiller, laser and piping when not in use for a long time.

2. Regular Cleaning and Inspection: It is recommended to clean the appearance of the equipment at least once a week, and gently wipe it with a dust-free cloth to avoid the accumulation of dust affecting the function of the equipment. For optical parts, special cleaning agents and cloths should be used according to the manufacturer's instructions.

3. Sealing check: Regularly check whether the sealing strips and door frames of the equipment are intact and undamaged to prevent cold air from intruding into the machine and affecting the stability and accuracy of the equipment.

4. Power management: During non-working hours, ensure that the equipment is completely disconnected from the power supply and unplugged from the mains socket to prevent voltage fluctuations or electrical faults.

5. Professional maintenance: Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for regular professional maintenance and calibration services to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the equipment.

6. Spare parts readiness: To minimise unplanned downtime, ensure that necessary replacement parts, such as bulbs, lenses, etc., are available and that the condition of these parts is regularly checked.

7. Operator training: Ensure that all operators are properly trained in the proper use and maintenance of the laser equipment in winter conditions.

8. Records and monitoring: Establish an equipment use and maintenance log to record the details of each use and any anomalies so that appropriate measures can be taken in a timely manner.
